Diagnostics
R-Biopharm offers innovative products for numerous applications in the area of clinical diagnostics. Laboratories and hospitals throughout the world appreciate their reliable and user-friendly solutions for the diagnosis of infections, allergies and gastroenterological diseases.
Allergology
Allergies are steadily increasing in industrialized countries. Nowadays, an allergy is defined as a specific hypersensitivity involving the immune system to substances which are actually harmless.
Bacteriology
Communicable diseases remain the most common death cause in emerging economies and a huge public health concern in developed countries.
The health services are presented with a significant challenge in terms of diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases. Effective use of the various diagnostic solutions can significantly improve the detection and control of infectious diseases caused by bacteria. The laboratory procedure must ensure that the information derived from the diagnostic test is reliable and delivered in a timely manner.
Human genetics
Human genetics is now of great importance in all fields of medicine, since many diseases or abnormalities are associated with genetic causes.
The term human genetic diagnostics covers all analyses of human genetic information, the DNA. The analysis of DNA segments makes it possible to identify genetic predispositions that are associated with certain diseases. In many areas, genetic tests are already an important support in diagnostics.
R-Biopharm’s test portfolio for human genetics offers solutions tailored to the diagnostic needs of laboratories. R-Biopharm uses the modern technology of real-time PCR. Depending on the diagnostic problem, it may be necessary in human genetics to detect individual, gene-specific point mutations. For this purpose, R-Biopharm uses an innovative technology that enables the detection of point mutations in real-time PCR. Benefit from their real-time PCR tests in human genetics, which offer precise analyses and advantages in terms of workload and time.

Indication
A reliable diagnosis is the basic prerequisite for an effective treatment. R-Biopharm’s high-quality and customer-oriented test systems support you in making the correct diagnosis.
Allergies
Allergies are steadily increasing in industrialized countries. Nowadays, an allergy is defined as a specific hypersensitivity involving the immune system to substances which are actually harmless.
Sexually transmitted infections
Sexually transmitted infections (STI): Challenges and prevention STIs, mainly transmitted through sexual intercourse, are caused by over 30 pathogens. Curable syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia and trichomoniasis affect an estimated 374 million people annually, underscoring the urgency of prevention. Symptoms are often subtle or absent, increasing the risk of transmission. Early, accurate pathogen identification is crucial, as untreated STIs can lead to serious complications.
The variety of symptoms, the often-asymptomatic nature and the frequent multiple infections in sexually transmitted diseases emphasize the relevance of multiplex testing. This enables comprehensive detection of important sexually transmitted pathogens in one approach.
Multiplex testing aims to identify not only obvious STIs, but also unrecognized infections that can lead to serious complications. Given the increasing prevalence of STIs and the threat of antibiotic resistance, multiplex testing is becoming a crucial tool for the prevention, early detection and effective treatment of STIs.
Therapeutic drug monitoring
With the ELISA tests and lateral flow test for therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM), you can check the drug concentration in the patient’s blood in order to adjust the dosage to the individual needs of the patient.
So called TNFα blockers are biologic agents which are used for the treatment of inflammatory diseases such as ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease and rheumatoid arthritis. Infliximab (IFX, Remicade®, Remsima™, Inflectra®) as well as Adalimumab (ADM, Humira®) belong to this group of drugs.

Technologies
R-Biopharm is constantly working on the development of new innovative technologies for clinical diagnostics. Their reliable and easy-to-use methods include ELISA, real-time PCR, lateral flow tests, blot tests and more.
ELISA
RIDASCREEN® ELISA tests are enzyme immunoassay platforms for qualitative, semi-quantitative or quantitative determination of the target molecules, such as biomarkers, antigens or antibodies.
Most of the RIDASCREEN® ELISA tests employ specific antibodies in a sandwich-type method, where the molecule-specific antibodies are attached to the well of the ELISA plate.
The ELISA test systems for clinical diagnostics are optimized for many automated platforms. Please inquire by using the contact form to find out more about the automation possibilities.
All enzyme immunoassays from R-Biopharm are CE-marked.
Real-time PCR
Molecular detection methods have revolutionized medical diagnostics and are an essential part of today’s clinical laboratory routine.
In many areas of infectious diseases, the classical detection methods such as culture and immunoassays have been replaced or supplemented by real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR).
Rapid tests
The RIDA®QUICK product line is a rapid lateral flow solution for clinical diagnostics. The lateral flow assays are a fast and convenient solution for qualitative detection of toxins as well as viral and bacterial antigens.
The RIDA®QUICK assays are a one-step, immunochromatographic lateral flow tests with antigen-specific antibodies which are attached to differently colored latex particles. Other specific antibodies against the pathogen are firmly bound to the membrane. Alternatively, biotinylated and gold-labeled antibodies subsequently bound to biotin are used.
RIDA®QUICK products are predominantly dedicated to the analysis of stool samples. All RIDA®QUICK lateral flow assays from R-Biopharm are CE-marked.
